Mar 11, Lisarenee rated it liked it. I just thought that was so strange The plot lurches from unlikely to remarkably unlikely. However, it was very draggy and amateurish. Deveraux and her writing agrees with me.
At first, yes, you’ll become totally addicted to the story for all the sweetness and all the love the hero, Seth, has for his little wife, Morgan. Coz this book clearly shows her progress over the years to what she is today.
I think you will find yourself just as aggravated at all the crap that is thrown into this story. Of course in each and every story, she must be beautiful and gorgeous. That’s about all I can say. I could have done without Morgan being this teeny, weeny, precious, tiny, little kitten and all other women in the book being big, stout, large, hulking, manly gals, but whatever. Morgan is a grown ass woman but simplified and sexualized as a “little girl.
The manner in which he learns this is heartfelt and wonderful. Jude has lived in several countries and all over the United States. Oct 03, Jen rated it did not like it. Deveraux manages to evoke a strong and convincing atmosphere for each of her books, but her dialogue and characters are as familiar as a modern-day soap opera’s. I just love Romance and Adventure and this book had a lot of it. What happened to Gordon?
He redeems himself only after deciding that he loves her no matter what she has become and will do anything it takes to win back her love. Absolutely nothing about either character’s behavior makes any sense.

It started off great. She began writing inand published her first bo Jude Gilliam was born September 20, in Fairdale, Kentucky. Seth falls for her too but does not realize it and continually drives her away with his jealousy. I literally race to the end of the book each time I get to this part, even though I obviously know how it will end. I wanted to enjoy this story enough to keep reading it despite my doubts, but I just couldn’t get on board, even though I did read it to the end dang complete-ist me I gave it three stars because author: I could have done without Morgan being this teeny, weeny, precious, tiny, little kitten and all other I might have enjoyed the story more if it’d been written a few years into Ms.
I’m quite glad that romance novels have evolved since the Rounded up from 1. Jude has also stepped outside her milieu, with mixed results. Some did, however, so the book was saved from being too harsh on th Gritty book about the early days of settling New Mexico and the gold rush days in California. Morgan Wakefield was taught by her embittered mother to trust no man. There are the usual dangers and joys of a road romance, and true happiness appears possible when they finally arrive in New Mexico.
Of course all the heroes should be good looking. I like it at first but after further reading, I came to a point where i don’t want to read it anymore because of a lot of despicable things that kept on happening to Morgan.

The difference between her writing in this book and the present o Jude Deveraux is my favorite author and I was excited to read her first book.
